Hello there everyone,
We've been invited to participate in a rather big RP event. Our role is to play a bunch of extremely racist Elves. Before you can make any sense of it, here is the description Zeesa/Cinty gave us on the WoW Realm Forums:
--------------------------
See bottom for date.
If you do not know what this event is part of, read this thread:
forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?sid=1&topicId=12304391000&postId=123028748954&ST=EU-1034213-IpS4Q5iAM6Ook0bwoAIj6l16TXZGIW2zS0c&rhtml=true
Many years ago, before the coming of the Orcish Horde, but quite a while after the creation of Azeroth as we know it, the Grand Alliance lived happily.
But, and this may or may not have mattered much at the time, they did not know anything about the great stretches of ocean out to the West.
The East, as they all knew, was occupied by the "Single-Eyed, Mono-Horned, Aviating Mauve Devourer of People."
At many points, exploration teams of varying sizes and skills were sent out to explore, and each time they emerged unsuccessfully.
However, one group arrived back with sightings of land. Unfortunately, they were unable to explore, what with the scurvy and the utter lack of supplies.
Eventually, under the order of King Landen Wrynn, one of the greatest explorers of the age sailed off to the great unknown in order to explore the new land.
After three months of absence, people had stopped caring much.
After seven years, people remembered about them and realised that they weren't coming back.
And this event follows their story!
What-ho, my fine feathered friends!
Yes indeed, the first of the events of the Flashbacks to the Past is being planned even as I type, and with any luck it will be done soon.
'What is this?' you may ask? Read my Flashbacks post to find out.
Essentially:
A group of 5-7 explorers will travel to the the far West to explore the unknown land of Kalimdor.
There will they see such revels as Elves. Who will kill them. Sorry to ruin the ending.
We will follow a rough path, walking from the landing site (in the Barrens, probably) through everywhere south of Ashenvale.
And we'll end in Ashenvale.
Our fine crew of adventuers!
Thurin/Torkey/Jarrus as Kardin Stonefist, the Great Explorer, who claimed to have discovered Azeroth on the grounds that someone must have.
Me as Aya Inkblot, the drawer of maps, who made the first truly accurate map of that area right behind Stormwind.
Rocmar/Gunderwulf as Someone whose Name has Escaped my Mind.
Shortay as Tingdil Bronzeaxe, Navigator.
Helghast as Mael Radec, Survival Expert.
And, of course, our ending.
For the Elves, we have the Way of Malorne helping us. A small hunting party will find these strange pink people wandering about their forest with very loud voices. The Elves will then take them as prisoners to Astranaar. THEN kill them.
Update.
Date!
The event will be occurring on Sunday the Eleventh of April at Six o'Clock game-time (so five in the afternoon, for some of us, such as myself).
---------
Anyway, Cinty decided to go ahead with this date without consulting us if its fine for us. I think that's a little bit silly but I she's a bit chaotic when it comes to organising things. For me, this date is fine, just the time is horribly off for me since I have dinner at that time and can't be back till 20.30.
So, we need to come up with things to do during this event. Ofcourse, eventually we will kill them all but what happens between first contact and their executions is what I think is most important.
Also, we got a fairly big problem which Cinty is either reluctant to sort out herself OR just doesn't care. Its the matter of who is leading the Elves. I have spoken to her about this a couple times. Originally, Zeesa would lead the Elves. But this changed suddenly without reason a couple of weeks ago. Sadly though, Celegil wasn't high-ranked enough about 30-70 years ago to lead a group. I can of course bring in the four of them with a couple of other Elves but this would mean we have to retcon some things like friendships (Celegil didn't meet Caliyen till two years ago for example). In anyway, we STILL need a higher ranking Druid/Sentinel/Priestess who speaks the verdict of execution on the Human and Dwarven explorers.
A rather dramatic alternative is to make alter-ego's. This however, would really hurt the experience since the goal of Cinty/Zeesa was to do a Flashback into the lifes of our characters and have a chance to Roleplay them several decades younger.
So, any thoughts?
