Hello there everyone,
Alright, this might sound a bit towards a rant BUT, it needs to be said.
Since we started, most events have been attended quite good. Sadly though, since about two weeks ago, things seem to be slipping down quite dramatically. Now, I think one of the reasons for this is, that people are not checking the calendar.
I'm mainly looking at the people who have alts here in the guild instead of main characters. Now, I'd like you all that have alts in the guild to check your calendar more often. Its no trouble at all if people can't attend for genuine reasons. What I DO NOT want to hear however is: 'Yes but I already accepted something with my main character, but I didn't know about this event till yesterday so I can't attend!'. No no, and thrice NO. This is no justification for not showing up. We mostly put up our events well in advance and there's plenty of time for someone to react that they can't attend.
At the moment, most of our events have had a 60% 'invited but not accepted or tentative' ratio. This, and I'm saying this as a guild officer, is NOT acceptable. I want to at least half that by next week. And come on peeps, what trouble is it to check your calendar once a day on your alt and check 'tentative, decline, or accept'. What difficulty is it? Barely.
Why am I working myself up like this? Well, at the moment, me and Ald have NO idea when people are avaliable for events. Thus, this makes making new events very tricky since we genuinely don't know rat's ass when people can show up. By using the calendar system, and if its used correctly, we can put events on dates so that at least 50-75% can attend. It also keeps people up to date when we are doing events.
Finally, this is just a heads-up. I'm not looking at anyone in particular right now. I'd like to see the guild improve its attendance rate by this. However, if this does not seem to help, I will have a word with individual cases. You have been warned.
