I've been thinking on a few dieas, and thought we needed an thread for ideas aswell? if you wish to do that topic then delete this but well, been having a few ideas. - RP at Auberdine at the moonwell or at the shore about some moon rituals for elune, could be singing out loud, or telling stories to eachother ( like an howl? )
- Then i got the idea for Ashenvale RP aswell, at the village almost in the middle, can't remember its name Astranaar i think it is.
- Then maybe some hunts aswell in Darkshore? where whoever there shows up goes out on an hunt, to find a few stags or boars, thereafter kill them as an sacrifice for the balance to Elune, thereafter having an camp with fire and all, and get to know eachother an little bit?
that where ideas for some starter RP for the guild, comments are welcome ofc and even better would be new ideas ^^

Having hot sax under a tree perhaps as an initiation ritual like the Free-Masons in the Da Vinci Code? *grins*
*coughs* Sorry, that was the teenager thing acting up again. Anyway! I like the idea but I think RPing in the middle of Astranaar is a bit odd for such a rough group of people. Sure I do it with my Sentinels, but that's it. I'd like to keep the RP we do somewhere in the middle of the forest. Not entirely secluded but still secluded enough that we get the feeling that we are in the middle of a forest. A bit like sitting around a campfire, like the guy in Ultimate Survival and the other guy in Survivorman on Discovery do.

The "Rite of the Hunt" concept slightly echoes the howl, although I hope the stories told will be a lot briefer. I also hope we'll have the chance to participate in actual Howls, or even eventually hold our own - be warned that they're pretty infrequent, as they tend to take HOURS. Not sure how much fun it will be to just stand around singing hymns and praying prayers, but don't let me stop you if you want to try it. RP Hunting in groups might be fun if it's properly organised; I also want to collect a list of usable locations for world PvE as well as instances. I'm hoping that we'll later manage some kind of RP-PvE every couple of weeks. There's nothing wrong with a hot sax, but I reckon jazz music would be more a gnome thing. Harp and flute seem more Kaldorei to me. I agree with Celegil on Astranaar; there's a nice outdoor location just nearby we can use instead, when we go there. Anyway, if you guys feel like meeting up and doing ad-hoc RP together, feel free! Once our characters get to know each other and the Way of Malorne a bit, I'm sure there'll be lots of cool ideas. Right now, things are still so new and unformed, it's all a bit up-in-the-air, but that will soon change as we start having regular gatherings.

I agree with the ad-hoc. I'm online on most evenings and am almost always up for some RP.

A couple of things crossed my mind last night, and I'd really like to hear your thoughts on them.
First up, I really like the way we're taking shape as a guild! I like the RP we've been doing - somewhat tense at times, to keep it interesting, but no serious fallings-out. I also like the balance between actual RP and OOC chat during RP sessions; I don't mind the cross-talk, as the colour coding keeps it readable, and it makes things much more engaging for people whose characters aren't talking or emoting much at any given moment. People inevitably read much faster than anyone can type, and OOC cross-chat can alleviate the boredom of waiting for people to finish their /say or /emote - or get back from dealing with their kid/dog/spouse. ;D But do you guys feel the same way about all this?
Second, I'm really keen to do more RP-PvE than we've done so far. Celegil's training session was a start, and I'm looking forward to facing the Dragon next week, but I wanted to check: are the rest of you as keen to get into PvE content as I am?
Thirdly, I'm hoping we'll have a RP-PvP event in the next couple of weeks. Are we excited? Are the lowbies worried about getting ganked? Are you actually not all that fussed? I love RP-PvP; the adrenaline of not knowing the outcome in advance makes it far more exciting than any other kind. But I wanted to take a temperature reading from the rest of you on that.
And finally, is there anything else we could do, apart from all this, to make our RP more fun and exciting? I'm open to ideas.
I think Karael is planning to set up some kind of group hunting activities (world PvE?) along the lines of Farel's suggestion. I notice we haven't had any big healing plots so far, but that's fine with me. One may very well crop up after we face this Dragon. And are the lowbies interested in an in-character visit to the Wailing Caverns? I have a story all worked out, it's ready to go if you want. Theronth, Korlithil, Farel, Liruel? Now's your chance, once your levels get too high it will be no fun at all.
Waiting to read your thoughts...

Yep, the OOC banter is at a good level and I much prefer it this way than silent, because it keeps me focused on the IC better and less likely to start opening background windows and such. You know my reluctance about roles, but RP-PVE sounds cool. I haven't really had a good experience at this yet. But I'm willing to give it a try. At least if we follow the infamous Cenarion Guardians format, we'll be the ones overgearing it! I have one or two thoughts which I might present to you in-game if they take any shape. Otherwise, I'm quite happy with where the guild is at the moment. There's plenty of random RP around when there isn't organised stuff on and the atmosphere remains very good.

- About the OOC chat during RP This is fine. Its good to have a friendly atmosphere in OOC while we may RP something terribly nasty or unfair. After all, if one isn't happy OOCly in the guild, than how can one RP in a good manner? So I think this is all good. - About RP-PvE This can be great, but we have to watch out we don't lockout people. I think for now it would be best to stick to enemies we can defeat outside of instances due to our massive level differences in the guild. Though, I think an IC Wailing Caverns is very possible. One note I would like to add on the RP-PvE is that we should create a solid backstory that involves exploring different parts of the world for clues before we actually go to the IC instance. This way, a story gets much more interesting rather than just go in and kill everything with only one or two emotes during the process. - About RP-PvP I'm interested in this, but there have been a lot of problems about gear issues in the past. I'm almost 100% sure Torakk (The Beastmaw Clan leader, big Orcish styled RP guild on the Horde) would like to do this in RP gear instead of PvP gear. In the past I have been quite fussed but that was more than a year ago. I'm willing to give it a shot. - Any more ideas? Not at the moment, I'm mainly going to focus on the Dragon thing for now to make it good. After that, I'm sure a few ideas will sprout up in me.

reminds me, i had this funny idea about some RP "PvP" fights, if i remember correct there are some orc camps east in Ashenvale, close to forest song ( or what the camp for draenei and night elfs are named ) and we could attack it and such, do that monthly / weekly, to "hold back the tree workers from making supplies to the horde etc" and later we could do at on PvP camps, but just to get the feeling of it ( and because some are only lvl 20+ or lower / higher. And i am gonna think to make some weekly howls, if i get the acceptanse to arrange it and such? where we do stories, around a campfire, at Darkshore somewhere, or Ashenvale, and then get to know eachother better, to like "get together" with more then just the rites? well where just a idea besides, more hunts could also be good? if i remember correct it is over a month ago the last was? now Karael is doing one on friday which i sadly can't come to -.- but else good job with it and good luck

I think possibly I should have looked here perhaps, before forging ahead with my Hunt idea... I hadn't realised you had presented one already Farel. Sorry to steal your thunder *sad face*
That being said, we did go ahead with the Hunt on Friday, and it was (in my view) a success. A chance to hunt some prey, see sights... and then sit and talk.
I am proposing to make this a regular fixture, and will be picking various places to visit, with new creatures to hunt each time. Maybe even more specific creatures that could be plaguing an area.
If you have a certain place you would like to take the Hunt, then let me know, and I will defer the plans to you for that week. Hopefully more of you will be able to make it next time!

Surely the Rite of Tranquility/the Hunt is a bit like a Howl, in that everyone gets a chance to tell a true story about themselves? If you want a proper Howl as such, I'd recommend having it less often and making more of an event of it, as the stories can be quite long, so if there are a decent number of people it takes hours.
But that being said, I'm all for experimentation, so feel free to set up whatever you feel like!

Well, I started to feel that just doing Rites week after week was getting a bit repetitive, so I've stepped up the plottiness and PvE. I still reckon on having some kind of Rite or social gathering every week, so our characters get to talk about what's happening and develop their relationships, but I think ongoing plotty stuff is what will keep that interesting and varied.
I still haven't got any world PvP organised; I'll try to grab Torakk/Kiva asap and get things moving on that front.
Meanwhile, having got thoroughly bored of pugging heroics, I've started dabbling in battlegrounds at last, and discovered that they're lots of fun. :-) I also noticed recently that in a month or two we may well have 10+ characters in the guild at level 80. So I started making mental lists of content that would potentially be interesting to visit IC (given the right plotty context of course). Take a look at these and tell me what you think (yay/ok/yuck):
Vanilla dungeons and raids: Wailing Caverns Blackfathom Deeps Maraudon Zul'Farrak (done) Sunken Temple (done) Dire Maul (pending) Blackrock Spire (lower and upper) Blackwing Lair Zul'Gurub (done) Ahn-Qiraj (either or both)
TBC dungeons and raids: Coilfang instances: The Underbog, The Slave Pens, The Steamvault Zul'Aman Serpentshrine Cavern Caverns of Time: Battle for Mount Hyjal (done, after a fashion)
WotLK dungeons and raids: Drak'Tharon Keep (done) Gun'drak (done) Ahn-Kahet (done) The Nexus Halls of Stone Halls of Lightning (possible before Ulduar) Naxxramas (pending) Ulduar (pending) Vault of Archavon (possible before Ulduar)
Battlegrounds/PvP: Warsong Gulch (the "flags" are powerful artifacts, for example, or Kaldorei children) Alterac Valley (Kaldorei justice for some particularly hated Orcs) Wintergrasp (prior to entering VoA)
Strand of the Ancients, Isle of Conquest and Arathi Basin would also make sense if there are dwarf or human allies whose trust or favour we need to earn.
For IC PvE, presumably Ald would main tank, Cali would offtank or dps, and Sal and Tenderleaf (and/or Shandaril perhaps?) would heal, with everyone else on dps. So before we start attempting level 80 content IC, I'll need to stop sucking as a tank. Working on that. But if you'd like to tank, and you think it would make sense for your character, shout.
