(Maybe for our realm forum)
Here I present you with a situation.
Deliaris Shadowwind, is relaxing with some of her friends in a “inn” in Darnassus. She has gotten a nut from bushes of teldrasil as nourishment, it is about the size of a fist. Hungry as she is she wants to open the nut, but due to the size of the nut it also has a hard wooden shell.
And now comes the emote. Deliaris struggle to open the nut. Easy, or is it?
/em tries to open the nut. - Done.
Wait! It is not like the nut is going to flame WoM on the forum for power emoting if try isn't there.
It is not very descriptive either is it? How can I describe it in an interesting way without using try?
I'll try my best shot.
1 - /em runs her fingers gently over the smooth surface of the nut, which is about the size of a fist.
2 - /em firmly holds the nut with both hands twisting and squeezing it with all her force, yet the nut won't come apart.
3 - /em hurls the nut to the ground.
4 - /em stares at the nuts as it bounce all the way back up over her head.
5 - /em mumbles “oh so you want it the hard way”
6 - /em picks up her polearm.
7 - /em carefully balances the polearm blade on top of the nut, before jumping up on the polearm bearing her full weight against the nut.
8 - /em loses her balance and stumbles to the ground while the nut bounces and skitters across the floor.
A few things I do.
I describe the nuts action in the emote through /em looks at … which does …
I combine says into an emote. I could also have done it in following way:
/em mumbles
/s Oh so you want it the hard way.
Or
/s [Mumbles] Oh so you want it the hard way.
I am not that happy with it. Is this a good read and if not. How would you open the nut?
