We don't make it very easy to join the Way of Malorne. This is simply a way of making sure we only get people who genuinely want to do what we do, and to avoid any possible problems later on. Still, it should be possible to get involved and active in the guild within a couple of days, as long as your character profile doesn't need major discussion and revision.
- First, register on this forum, and read the sticky posts in the "Old Scrolls." That's a lot of text; if you prefer you can just check through the first five posts marked "OOC" (including this one) to start with. If you haven't already, check out the guide to Kaldorei RP as well: scarteleu.wikia.com/wiki/A_Guide_to_Roleplaying_a_Night_Elf_character.
If you like and agree with everything you see, great; otherwise please contact me to discuss any concerns before proceeding. If it's too long for you to read, you certainly won't enjoy our RP. - Second, compose a profile of your character according to the outline in the "Follower records" section, and send it by forum PM to me (username: Aldrannath) and Caranir (username: Caliyen). This can be quite short. If you've never written a character profile before, you don't have to worry too much about making the first version perfect; in any case we will carefully review and probably suggest changes to your profile. A description of what we want (and don't want) in your character can be found in the "How to RP - our way" thread. You must tell me every significant dark secret your character has - purely for story planning purposes, to make sure your evil plans can take shape in a cool way, rather than creating a mess. Once your profile is done, we can start to RP.
- Third, catch us online (or we'll catch you, or if we keep missing each other we can set an appointment) for some kind of informal RP with your character and some of us. This is to make sure we are happy RPing together, and to give your character a test drive to see how she works out in practice.
- Then, if everyone's happy after the first meeting or two, you can join the guild with the introductory rank of "Seeker". This means that your character is taking an interest in the Way, and might perhaps end up becoming a follower. You should expect to spend at least a couple of weeks at this rank; it's also perfectly fine to remain a Seeker indefinitely.
- After a few RP events, if your character still wants to follow the Way, and the Elders approve, we can set up your in-character induction, "The Rite of Tranquility" and promotion to "Novice" or "Ranger" (or exceptionally, "Elder") as appropriate.
