Vennidaar Moonshaft
Kaldorei Hunter
Age: about 1800 years
Description:
Venni is of average height for a Kaldorei but is slightly broader, large strong arms hang below stocky shoulders, arms hardened from many centurys of hunting with his aged bow. His eyes glow golden set either side of a hawkish nose and he frequently squints to prevent the glow from them giving away his position of concealment when hunting.
Family:
Mother: Jessadori is a sentinal in Moonglade
Father: Rannidaar is a merchant in Moonglade
Brother in arms: Glavendarr(died in the war of the shifting sands)
Background:
Venni was raised in a communal group of Kaldorei children in Astranaar , he strongly bonded with one other child especially, Glavendarr. They learnt to hunt together and were constant companions and friends, they always made jest that they were brothers in all but name.
Both were well aged when the call to fight in the war of the shifting sands came forth. Both though experianced in the hunt had no previous experiance of large scale warfare and were both caught unawares at the ferocity it beheld them. Both fought valiantly , Glavendarr with armour of plate and wielding a mighty broadsword while Venni picked off foes from afar ,his extra bulk frequently enabling him to out range more seasoned fighters. This was to be his downfall.
During a day after more than twenty hours of fighting as most were wearing, Venni still fired fast and far and on one horrific shot to far. Realeasing the hock to fire another volley unto the advancing enemy he misfired and overshot his mark striking Glavendarr fately between his shoulderblades. The flight often plays through Vennis mind, bringing forth a saness and woe that blackens his mood.
Many had thought venni would wish to train with the druidic order when young due to his love and respect for the forest and animals but instead he chose the way of the hunt. This seemed to serve him well up until the battle. After the battle was finally won he slipped into the shadows and slipped away. From then on he spent many years hunting Kalimador alone until recently when the portal to Outland was opened and the call came from the Cenarion Circle looking for brave souls to take up there cause . Venni volountered to assist and now his past haunts him less and less as the hunting of foes in Outland brings many new nightmares to prevent his peaceful slumber.
When tracking now he will stalk slowly ,sometimes for many hours. Crawling behind the target, he senses the beasts heartbeat within his chest, a slow rythmic beating, the sights and sounds of the beast before offing it in a final swift shot.
With regards to the newly met races of the Alliance, he dislikes humans and there foolish ways, noting them unable to view life over a long period and there live for the moment attitude. Though he notes there is much good in them as a race he believes there impatiance will be there downfall. Dwarfs and gnomes seem to fall on the other side of the line in terms of life length, though the dwarfs drunken ways offend him and the gnomes constant tinkering with the magical and mechanical sets them aside as the most foolish of races and one he avoids at all cost. The dranei though seem wise in the ways of the world and there shaministic ways please Venni, believing they hold the world in balance and are respectful to all.
