Banthanor Mistwalker
Kaldorei Druid of the Wild
Age: Around 1000
Description:
Banthanor is a little taller than average, and well-muscled. His hair is dark blue but may appear black to the less perceptive races. Much of the time, he has a calm disposition and is eager to offer advice, though he shuns the company of those he mistrusts, often surly in their presence.
Not considering himself above courtesy to newcomers, Banthanor will always send a civil greeting their way, if little else. Having seen the dangers trusting too easily can bring, he is less eager than some to forge new ties with strangers.
A small satchel of herbs is always tied securely to his belt, the contents within used for a variety of healing purposes. The most prominent of these is tending to his recent injury, which leaves him sapped of much of his power.
Family:
Mother: A relatively little known priestess of the Sisterhood of Elune
Father: A Druid of the Claw
Banthanor has little contact with his parents, preferring to view most of the Kaldorei as brothers or sisters- once they have gained his trust.
Background:
Banthanor was born and raised in Ashenvale, in a small settlement some distance from Astranaar. He had very little contact with his father, who to this day spends nearly all of his time with the Cenarion Circle. Mostly raised by his mother, he grew up aspiring to be in some way like his mysterious father, which led to him undergoing training as a druid.
As he started to become more independent, he too devoted much of his time to druidic training and roaming the forests near his birthplace. Once he had an intimate knowledge of the area, he began to travel further afar, seeking new ways to uphold the Balance across Kalimdor. Having experienced many risks to the Balance first hand, this is something he views as no small task.
While the amount of time he has spent in the Dream could not be described as insignificant, he was less reluctant to return to the waking world than most, as he finds much joy in heightening his skills in more practical areas.
During the Third War, Banthanor chose to adopt a more passive role, healing allies behind the front lines. However, as the opposing forces swept across his ancestral lands, he soon began to utilise his strength. The orc's slaying of Cenarius led to him hating the race and their allies for a time, and even now he chooses to have as little to do with them as possible.
Uncomfortable with the differing attitudes of many members of the Cenarion Circle- particularly the new Archdruid- Banthanor was driven to search for a new way of honouring the balance he held in such high regard. This led to him seeking out the Way of Malorne, in the hope that he could find a group of like-minded individuals who would suit his views.
While he has less to do with the Circle than before, Banthanor still has those he would consider friends among their ranks. Occasionally he will perform tasks they bring to his attention to the best of his ability.
