Apparently a Tauren wants to talk to the followers of the Way. I, for one, am curious. Celegil, is there a feasible way of setting things up so we can communicate cross-faction? I know it will be laborious, but just this once? Winterwind has joined us here on the forum, so I look forward to hearing more about the details.

...and my computer finally decides to work!
Sorry that took so long there all, thanks for the patience. Aye, recent RP events and storylines involving the Beastmaw Clan and the Suncrown Conclave have thrown my lot into a bit of a spin.
Essentially, we're sick of them..the loss of Tauren culture, our young losing our ways in favour of the Orcs (not even children of the Mother themselves), our constant losses in wars not of our making, the manipulation of the Conclave and Silvermoon in general, the rampant bloodlust of the Beastmaw...
Our race is being drowned in blood whilst the dark whispers from the earth worm their way into peoples ears and hearts. The old enemies lie forgotten, the Balance ignored for political gains. All in all we're in dire straights.
Theres a movement afoot to try to persuade the Tauren leadership of this, let them see the truth of our hasty alliance with the invaders. However that has to be long term and subtle. The Storm believes that no matter how we feel about this, caution is advised. The Children of the Moon share some of our ways, and while they have caused grievous hurt to the Mother in the past, they try now to maintain the Balance and share what they know. The followers of Ap'aro (i.e you lot) understand the need for survival as do we.
We need allies, we need to let the Moon-Touched know what their wayward kin push for, we need to build bridges, so that when the time comes, we may cross them.
So there ye have it. We need to open a dialogue. But I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this. Thats a shame, as I think the Rp from this could be rather good. Best idea I have so far is a "Translator" on a computer in the same room as someone else present at a large meeting. I'm rather lost after that....
Long post, long time coming. In any event, please let me know if this tangent is of any interest. If not, thanks for your time anyway, and good gaming!

Are there no mods for cross faction language and communication? Would be neat.

Nopes.. In game features that would allow you to talk to an opposing faction member would cause a ban.. But with the battle.net friendlist.. That might change all of it!

Sadly, Sal is right. At present the only way to interact (apart from the standard emotes) is for one person on each side to run WoW in a window, and have MSN or Skype open. That means a lot of laborious typing for two people (who have to re-type everything anyone says, their own side into Skype and the other side into WoW chat), and a rather slow conversation for everyone else.
It sounds so interesting that I'd be up for it in spite of the difficulties, at least for one big meeting where we make our agreements.
Here's an idea: Aldrannath is supposed to be friendly with the Zandalari trolls, so I could create a troll alt to be an "agent of the Zandalari" who's in touch with Aldrannath, and would be able to interact more with these Tauren. That way we could have cross-faction stories without having to actually RP cross-faction very much.
Post-Cata it should be a lot easier; as Sal mentioned we should be able to have cross-faction chat.

An added thought: Winterwind could hear about the Way of Malorne via the Circle, and decide to contact them. The first point of contact could be a letter, but if you think Winterwind would worry about messages being intercepted, he could track down Ald and the others in person, probably in Moonglade - there he can be sure they wouldn't just shoot him on sight.

I also have a lvl 80 Tauren druid and would happily come along with winterwind to make up the numbers a bit. It seems like a good idea to me and interesting and with cross faction/realm chat coming in patch 3.3.5 it seems it will soon be possible to.
As a side note i wish that Taurens were part of the alliance although not humanoid in looks they share a balance with the wild with both Kaldorei and dranei. Maybe with cata giving us worgen it will spice up the alliance a bit,any thoughts?
Also what will worgen rp be like? When human simply enough but when shapeshifted will they be different? A Jeykl and Hyde scenario maybe, split personality rp wouldnt be easy to maintain i think, thoughts?

Personally.. I like the Worgen race.. But, I don't think any Kaldorei themed RP guild would accept them, despite the bond they share with Night Elves through that weapon.. Not even druids. And according the the Cataclysm lore.. The Gilneas worgen have found a way to hinder the curse so even in worgen form you aren't some savage beast ICly.. You're still human just a very furry one ^^

If thats true and there just to be seen as furry humans then theres no real new rp to be had, apart from walking around as a wolfman and scareing people in SW:) Was really hoping it would bring out a whole new experiance for the alliance as clearly goblins will for the horde, we get the cool model but dull rp, bah, horde bias raises its head again maybe, blizzard does seem to propogate that image imho. As Org is getting a facelift , how about some love for IF? SW has had a facelift ,maybe Darnassus will get some love also, who knows....

I think SW will become the metropolis of the Alliance, since they have good boat connections and whatnot

ah i see.mmm seems that blizzard blantently favours SW now with its harbour and whatnot, in vanilla it was IF that was the favoured haunt as it was close to the wetlands to allow both the boat to darnassus and the tram to SW. I think IF is starting to look dated now and could do with a facelift of sorts, maybe the tram will goto the reclaimed Gnomeregan which would be a nice touch. But Darnassus is barely occupied ,maybe the could make it that all races must use there home towns AH or something that way to fill up the other towns rather than laggy Dalaran.

Of course Blizz favours SW.. As Amplisa said.. It's like the Capital of the Alliance and it's where most people do all their OOC buisness. But I don't mind that there aren't many people in Darnassus.. Keeps the lolboi count very little ^_^
